Being in applied science often requires you to communicate science to non-scientific audiences. Pretty pictures help. I’ve had the opportunity to incorporate my artistic skills into my work in various ways, including infographics, conference media, insect anatomy illustrations, and one very dorky comic. Here are a few examples of my work.
Infographics
Biocontrol-based pest management programs can be complex and difficult to explain. Sometimes all you need are some snazzy graphics.
Conference Media
I created all of the media for the 2017 IOBC conference that was held in Niagara Falls, including the logos, program, signs, banners, and website icons.
Illustration
I make both hand-drawn and digital illustrations. I often create custom vector graphics since there is rarely stock images available for the work we do in my lab!
